Art Noveous and the City Beneath the Glass River

Hidden far beyond the northern valleys of the Marble Kingdom was a magical city unlike any other place in the world.

The city was called Lumina.

Towering glass buildings curved like flowers toward the sky. Silver bridges floated over glowing canals, and every street shimmered with colours that changed with the sunlight.

At the centre of Lumina lived the mysterious and brilliant marble known as Art Noveous.

Art Noveous was admired across the kingdom for his extraordinary appearance. Swirling colours of emerald green, gold, sapphire blue, and glowing white curved across his glass like flowing works of art.

No two marbles had patterns quite like his.

But Art Noveous was famous for something else too.

He was an inventor.

His workshop beneath the Glass River was filled with strange machines, floating lanterns, spinning crystal engines, and mechanical birds that could sing beautiful songs.

Some marbles thought he was a genius.

Others thought he was completely bonkers.

Art Noveous didn’t mind either way.

One rainy evening, while lightning flashed above Lumina, a terrible problem struck the city.

The great Glass River suddenly stopped flowing.

Without the glowing river, the city’s power would slowly fade away.

Street lights dimmed.

Floating bridges froze in place.

The giant crystal towers began losing their magical glow.

Panic spread through Lumina.

“The city will shut down completely by sunrise!” cried Mayor Pearly Kings.

Engineers searched everywhere but could not discover what had blocked the river beneath the city.

Finally, one worried marble whispered:

“We need Art Noveous.”

Deep below the streets, Art Noveous listened carefully as the marbles explained the problem.

Then he smiled slightly.

“A river never stops without a reason.”

Grabbing his glowing tool satchel and mechanical lantern, he disappeared into the underground tunnels beneath Lumina.

The tunnels were ancient.

Huge crystal pipes carried glowing liquid light beneath the city walls. Strange gears turned slowly in the darkness while echoes bounced through the underground chambers.

As Art Noveous travelled deeper, he noticed something unusual.

The river had not dried up.

It had been redirected.

“Interesting…” he murmured.

Following the glowing current, he eventually reached a hidden cavern no marble had seen for hundreds of years.

Inside stood a gigantic forgotten machine covered in vines and dust.

The machine hummed weakly with fading energy.

At its centre stood an old marble engineer named Professor Silvermind, who had disappeared many years earlier.

The professor looked startled.

“You found me!”

Art Noveous blinked in surprise.

“Professor Silvermind? Everyone thought you vanished.”

The old engineer sighed sadly.

“I was trying to create unlimited energy for Lumina,” he explained. “But the machine became unstable. I redirected the Glass River to stop it exploding.”

Art Noveous carefully examined the machine.

The glowing crystal engine was cracked and dangerously overloaded.

“If it bursts,” warned Silvermind, “the entire underground city could collapse.”

Most marbles would have fled immediately.

But Art Noveous became excited.

“Oh, now THIS is an interesting problem.”

For hours the two inventors worked together repairing crystal gears, rerouting energy pipes, and replacing damaged sections of the machine.

Finally, Art Noveous adjusted one final golden lever.

The entire cavern rumbled.

Then suddenly…

WHOOSHHHH!

The Glass River burst back into life, glowing brighter than ever before.

Above ground, the city of Lumina lit up magnificently.

Crystal towers sparkled across the skyline.

Floating bridges moved once more.

Thousands of cheering marbles filled the streets.

When Art Noveous finally returned from the underground tunnels, Mayor Pearly Kings proudly announced:

“You have saved Lumina!”

But Art Noveous simply smiled and looked toward the glowing city around him.

“No,” he replied softly.

“We saved it together.”

That night, the people of Lumina held the greatest celebration in the city’s history.

And high above the glowing streets, Art Noveous stood quietly beside the Glass River, already sketching strange new inventions for adventures still to come.
