The White Cosmics and the Frozen Star

Far beyond the snowy mountains of the Marble Kingdom, beyond even the Crystal Caverns and the northern ice cliffs, lay a mysterious frozen land known as the Polar Cosmos.
The sky there never truly became dark.
Instead, glowing rivers of white light drifted across the heavens while icy stars sparkled endlessly above the snow-covered plains.
And living within that frozen world were the legendary marbles known as the White Cosmics.
The White Cosmics were among the rarest marbles ever discovered. Their shells shimmered with brilliant white swirls, silver cosmic dust, and glowing crystal patterns that looked like tiny galaxies trapped beneath ice.
They were peaceful marbles.
Wise marbles.
And according to ancient stories…
Guardians of the stars themselves.
One icy evening, Jack Mitchell and Bernard the talking dog travelled north after strange reports arrived from the Polar Cosmos.
The stars were disappearing.
One by one, lights in the night sky had begun fading away.
Entire constellations vanished overnight.
And now the northern sky itself was growing dark.
“That seems bad,” said Jack.
Bernard shivered beneath three scarves and a woolly hat.
“Everything north of warm beaches seems bad.”
As snowstorms swirled across the frozen plains, glowing figures appeared from the ice mist ahead.
The White Cosmics.
Their leader rolled forward silently.
Her name was Celestara.
Her shell glowed softly like moonlight on snow.
“You have come at the final hour,” she said.
“That sounds worrying,” Bernard muttered.
Celestara explained the terrible truth.
Deep beneath the frozen ice fields rested the Frozen Star — an ancient cosmic crystal that reflected starlight across the entire northern sky.
But something dark had awakened below the ice.
Now the Frozen Star was losing power.
“If the crystal fades completely,” Celestara warned, “the Polar Cosmos will fall into eternal darkness.”
Suddenly the ground beneath them trembled violently.
A deep cracking sound echoed across the ice.
KRRRRRAAAAAKKK!
Far out on the frozen plains, giant cracks spread beneath the snow while the sky above dimmed further.
Then something enormous moved beneath the ice.
Bernard froze solid.
“No.”
A huge shadow circled beneath the frozen lake beside them.
“Please tell me this is not another giant monster.”
Nobody answered.
Which was unfortunately answer enough.
The White Cosmics led Jack and Bernard through glowing ice tunnels beneath the Polar Cosmos. The underground caverns shimmered with frozen crystal walls and floating lights trapped inside ancient ice formations.
At the centre of the caverns stood the Frozen Star.
It was magnificent.
A giant white crystal suspended above a frozen lake, glowing faintly with silver cosmic energy.
But dark cracks had spread across its surface.
And wrapped around the frozen lake below…
Was the creature from beneath the ice.
The Frost Serpent.
A gigantic icy beast with glowing white eyes and crystal-covered scales.
Bernard quietly stepped behind Jack.
“I am beginning to miss ordinary problems.”
The Frost Serpent roared, sending freezing winds spiralling through the chamber.
Ice shattered across the floor.
The Frozen Star flickered dangerously.
Celestara looked heartbroken.
“The serpent was once guardian of the crystal.”
“What happened?” asked Jack.
“The darkness beneath the ice poisoned its mind.”
The creature attacked again, smashing giant crystal pillars across the cavern.
The White Cosmics scattered across the frozen chamber, their glowing shells lighting the darkness as they tried to calm the beast.
But the cracks in the Frozen Star spread wider.
If it shattered, the Polar Cosmos would freeze forever beneath endless darkness.
“There must be some way to heal it!” shouted Jack.
Celestara gazed toward the crystal.
“The White Light Ceremony.”
The White Cosmics formed a circle around the Frozen Star. One by one their shells began glowing brighter and brighter until the entire chamber filled with swirling white cosmic light.
The Frost Serpent roared again and lunged toward them.
But Jack stepped forward bravely while Bernard — despite absolutely not wanting to — distracted the creature by throwing frozen fish from a nearby ice crate.
“WHY AM I ALWAYS HELPING GIANT MONSTERS?” Bernard shouted.
Meanwhile the White Cosmics channelled their glowing energy into the Frozen Star itself.
The cracks slowly began sealing.
The cavern trembled violently.
The darkness beneath the ice fought against the growing light.
Then suddenly…
BOOOOOOOOM!
A brilliant wave of white cosmic energy exploded across the Polar Cosmos.
The dark clouds vanished instantly.
Stars blazed back to life across the heavens.
And the Frozen Star shone brighter than ever before.
The Frost Serpent collapsed peacefully onto the frozen lake, no longer corrupted by darkness.
Slowly, the creature lowered its enormous head before disappearing silently beneath the ice once more.
The Polar Cosmos was saved.
That night, Jack stood beside the White Cosmics beneath a sky overflowing with stars and shimmering white auroras.
“It’s beautiful,” he whispered.
Celestara smiled softly.
“The stars guide those who still believe in wonder.”
Bernard stared upward at the freezing sky.
“I believe in central heating.”
Even the White Cosmics laughed at that one.
