Ice Frosties and the Frozen Crystal Palace

Far beyond the snowy mountains of the Marble Kingdom, where icy winds howled across endless white valleys, stood the magnificent Frozen Crystal Palace.

Its towers sparkled like diamonds beneath the northern lights.

Its frozen bridges glowed pale blue beneath the moon.

And protecting the palace were the legendary winter marbles known as the Ice Frosties.

The Ice Frosties were a group of magical frost marbles who controlled snow, ice, and winter storms. Their marble shells shimmered with icy blues, crystal whites, silvers, and frozen patterns that looked like snowflakes trapped inside glass.

They loved winter more than anything.

Snowball tournaments.

Ice skating races.

Frozen pudding festivals.

If it involved snow, the Ice Frosties were there.

But one winter evening, something impossible happened.

The Frozen Crystal Palace began melting.

Jack Mitchell first noticed the problem when warm rain started falling at Bablock Hythe in the middle of winter.

Bernard the talking dog looked horrified.

“This weather is deeply suspicious.”

Then came the message.

A frozen snowflake crystal arrived glowing bright blue with urgent words inside:

“THE FROST HEART IS FAILING.”

Without hesitation Jack, Imogen, Lenny, and Bernard boarded the Snow Strider Express, a giant steam-powered ice train heading north through blizzards and frozen forests.

As they approached the Crystal Palace, they saw the disaster immediately.

Huge icicles crashed from the towers.

Frozen rivers had turned into rushing floods.

Snow melted from the mountainsides.

The Ice Frosties rushed about desperately trying to stop the palace collapsing.

“We’ve never seen anything like this!” cried one Frostie.

At the centre of the palace stood the Frost Heart — a giant glowing crystal suspended above a frozen lake.

Normally it shone with icy blue energy.

Now it flickered weakly with strange red cracks spreading across its surface.

“What caused this?” asked Jack.

An Ice Frostie elder looked worried.

“Something entered the Ice Caverns beneath the palace.”

Deep below the Crystal Palace lay ancient frozen tunnels where the Frost Heart drew its magical energy. But recently strange heat tremors had begun shaking the caverns.

Naturally…

Dragon Fire had been there.

Again.

When the team entered the caverns they discovered Dragon Fire sitting beside a giant underground lava crack trying to toast marshmallows on an ancient crystal pillar.

“What?” he asked innocently. “It was cold.”

Unfortunately his fire experiments had accidentally awakened a buried Lava Serpent sleeping beneath the ice.

And now the enormous creature was tunnelling through the caverns, melting everything around it.

Suddenly the ground trembled violently.

CRAAAAAAASH!

A gigantic serpent made from molten lava burst through the frozen walls, hissing steam and fire into the icy tunnels.

The Ice Frosties screamed.

The creature’s heat caused entire sections of the caverns to melt instantly.

“If it reaches the Frost Heart,” shouted Lenny, “the whole winter kingdom could collapse!”

Working together, Jack and the Ice Frosties raced through the collapsing tunnels trying to protect the Frost Heart while Imogen used her powers to freeze spreading lava rivers.

Meanwhile Bernard slid uncontrollably across the ice screaming.

“I HAVE MADE SEVERAL POOR LIFE DECISIONS!”

The Lava Serpent finally burst into the Frost Heart chamber itself.

Steam exploded everywhere as fire and ice collided violently.

The Frost Heart cracked further.

The Crystal Palace above began shaking dangerously.

Then the Ice Frosties did something extraordinary.

Instead of fighting separately, they joined together in a giant frozen circle around the Frost Heart. Their icy powers combined into a swirling storm of snowflakes and crystal light.

But it still wasn’t enough.

The Lava Serpent was too strong.

Then Dragon Fire rolled forward quietly.

“This happened because of me,” he admitted.

For once, the wild fire marble stopped joking around.

Using his fire powers carefully instead of wildly, Dragon Fire focused controlled heat directly into the Frost Heart’s damaged crystal lines while the Ice Frosties cooled the outer layers.

Slowly…

the cracks began sealing.

The Frost Heart glowed brighter and brighter until finally—

WHOOOOOOOSHHHH!

A gigantic wave of freezing blue energy burst across the palace.

The Lava Serpent calmed instantly and slowly sank peacefully back beneath the caverns.

The ice stopped melting.

Snow began falling gently once again.

And high above the Crystal Palace, the northern lights shimmered beautifully across the sky.

The Ice Frosties cheered loudly.

Winter had been saved.

That evening the palace held the greatest frozen celebration in its history. Ice sculptures sparkled through the halls while snowflake lanterns floated above giant frozen banquet tables.

Even Dragon Fire was invited.

Although he was banned from standing near the desserts.

Before Jack left, the Ice Frosties handed him a tiny crystal snowflake that never melted.

“It will keep you warm during the coldest times,” said the Frostie elder kindly.

Bernard examined the snowflake carefully.

“I appreciate that,” he said. “Because I never wish to meet another lava snake again.”
